Episode 983:Investopedia defines “Socialism as a populist economic and political system based on the public ownership (also known as collective or common ownership) of the means of production. Those means include the machinery, tools, and factories used to produce goods that aim to directly satisfy human needs.
In a purely socialist system, all legal production and distribution decisions are made by the government, and individuals rely on the state for everything from food to healthcare. The government determines output and pricing levels of these goods and services. Socialists contend that shared ownership of resources and central planning provide a more equal distribution of goods and services and a more equitable society.”
Make no mistake about socialism, it is neither benign nor un-authoritarian. In order for socialism to work there has to be central control of the economy, and more times than not that is done through the political process. Socialism always starts out as a pie in the sky idea to spread everything equally, but the only way you can do this is to take away the peoples freedom to choose. And freedom and liberty are always the first two casualties of socialism.
Socialism only works until the country your trying to convert to socialism runs out of money, then the socialist blame everybody but themselves and their ideas for the failures. And the Nordic example of “socialism” has been debunked for almost two years now. Freedom and liberty are the only economic and political system that raise all boats and allows more people the choice to succeed or fail!!!
